About the Author

Sharon Richmond is a longtime educator, community advocate, and Northport resident. She has dedicated her life to guiding children with compassion, empathy, and a deep sense of understanding.

After losing her son, Vincent, Sharon became a passionate advocate for awareness and education, helping to foster open, honest communication that encourages understanding, connection, and help-seeking. Inspired by her son Vincent’s love for the environment, justice, and helping others, she is committed to teaching young people the importance of following their inner moral compass, caring for the world around them, and staying true to who they are. Through her writing, advocacy, and volunteer work, Sharon hopes to help children and families find hope, healing, and their own North Star. Through her volunteer and advocacy work, Sharon has received several honors, including the New York Legal Action Center Advocate of the Year Award, the Suffolk County Woman of Distinction Award, and the Town of Huntington Youth Bureau Community Advocate Award.
