Review by Allyson Rankin, Plymouth, MA

Thank You, Mama is a children’s book that is uniquely directed towards the mother instead of the child, illustrating a wonderful message about being a parent. Lasko writes about the gratitude children feel towards their mothers, no matter how imperfect said mother may think she is. I for one believe that this is an excellent book for new moms who may feel alone or inadequate; showing them that they will get better at being a parent every day, and to be kind to themselves as they start this new journey.

I also particularly love the art accompanying this book. Biron does a fantastic job of showing mothers from all different walks of life. Early motherhood can look like anything, and Biron does a great job of illustrating the realism and beauty of all the women experiencing it.
